When we encounter something that we must read, we often use the excuse, "It's a shame they do that." The idea is that if they didn't force us to read something or if there was no such requirement for us to do so, we would have been able to enjoy the story for ourselves. This is not necessarily true. Most of the time, we love the story and want to share it with others. However, we often feel that if we didn't have any requirement for reading it then we wouldn't have done so and would just be wasting time. When this happens, we can feel free and enjoy whatever is on our mind and sometimes even skip other works to make sure we continue reading what we love.
